It looks innocent today but the Monument of the Discoveries in Lisbon was the departure point for all the great Portuguese voyages, discovering Brazil, USA West Coast of Africa and also traveling out to Asia and China past the Cape of Good Hope. Lisbon is a modest city but has a mighty heritage!
