The Next Frontier: Microdrone technology

Drones come in all sizes now and if you look closely at this photo, you will see a camera, a microphone to conduct audio spying, and a needle to be able to sting you and extract a small amount of your fluids for DNA. This is already in production in Fort Brag, Ohio where a whole technological drone warfare center I believe, is based. This tiny spyware can fit in your bag unbeknown to you. It is ingenious yet evil. My question is: can it also inject me with toxins and can it be used to kill or assassinate others? Will cancer ever be incidental anymore and the next world leader who speaks their mind contrary to the US – will they be victims of their freedom of speech? Thanks to Wakeup.com for the photo and the info!

  1. There is and has been an immense amount of R&D in microelectronics and “MEMS” – micro-electromechanical systems – focused upon robotics, including tiny UAVs – unmanned air (flying) vehicles. This includes the very tiny device – an “artificial insect” if you will – shown in the photo. As with any kind of technology – “techne” – “tool” – things can be used for all sorts of purposes including to harm, to intrude, to infringe upon, and to cause physical injury, illness, even death. Can these “mosquito” UAVs be used to spy upon or to assassinate someone? Well, potentially, yes. Realistically, though, there are an incredible number of challenges for using such a device, even one that would be large but still hard to notice – for instance, on a “night flight” to the victim’s home or while they are somewhere outdoors like at, oh, perhaps, to color the image a bit, the beach or a picnic.

There are, frankly, a lot of easier ways to target an individual for espionage or assassination. Ultimately, however, things come down to the social order and the social contract. Do we condone these things to be done, or not? Consider how we do, in the USA, condone a situation to exist, thus far, by which persons with identified, recognized, or at least strongly suspected mental inbalances including dispositions to violence have been allowed to buy almost any number and type of guns and other firearms, and ammo via the internet, and professional police/military combat gear ( e.g., body armor).

I am actually more concerned, right here and now, that enormous sums of money and resources – including human intelligence skills – have been directed toward weapons-centric technologies, rather than toward the development of smart and “Wow!” technologies for energy, food, intelligent population control, water, healthcare to address climate changes, and basic engineering to address those climate changes – just to name a few areas where the $$, pounds and euros can be better directed IMHO.

    Thank you, Martin
